The first alpha version of the iphone server/client has been uploaded to the SVN repository on sourceforge.
The projects source may be accessed via
http://mmc-client.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/mmc-client mmc-client
You can also browse the local repository here
https://99.139.107.194/svn/test/
Use test for both username and password.
This is the Apha release of the Iphone Client and mini server. With this version you can at least recreate the cat demos we posted to utube.
In testing we found that although functional the mini server does not provide the throughput needed for repeated xml requests, and safari will tend to hang.
From the client project we are involved in we have gained a great deal of knowledge on using Spring and hibernate with an icefaces client.
It is clear that this knowledge can be leveraged on the open source project.
Although some work may continue on the miniserver and javascript client the next series of ITB's will target SpringFramework and Tomcat 6.
The javascript client will be replaced either with a google web toolkit client or a client based on JSF with icefaces components.
The proposed release schedule is as follows.
January 1 2008 - Release of the mini server and client.
March - June 2008 Alpha/beta's itb's of the spring / tomcat server.
March - July alpha/beta itb's of the icefaces client
ongoing reseach GWT integration
August First deployment outside local network package

Hey there,
Sorry to drop in on you, but you look like you've spent some time messing with streaming to the iphone. :)
I was incredibly bored at work today and suddenly got the bright idea that it'd be damn cool to stream my webcam live to my iphone. I've got the whole shebang going, quicktime broadcaster connecting to a darwin streaming server and an apache server sitting there serving the reference movie. I can stream to other macs, but my iphone's quicktime plugin really doesn't seem to give a damn for my rstp:// url in my ref movie.
Any idea if rstp is even supported on the iphone yet?
Hope you can spare a minute,
Mike

Any word on this? It seems like it would be great idea, but I understand projects getting pushed back by money-related things. Just an update would be great!
Hi, can you send me some clues about how to use the software hosted on sourceforge? I would like to use it. I have a NAS with media server, it is just what I need. thanks in advance.
how do you use this software exactly? the only option seems to be to run jproxyServer.jar, but it appears not to do what i want, and i can't figure out how to configure it. isn't there any documentation somewhere? i can't find anything at all! :(
